BuildingGlucoLoop
An open-source automated insulin delivery app for iOS.
What it is
GlucoLoop is an open-source automated insulin delivery system for iOS. It runs the OpenAPS algorithm with Trio's adaptations, reads from a continuous glucose monitor, and drives an insulin pump to keep glucose in range with less day-to-day intervention.
It is a fork of Trio, which itself grew out of FreeAPS X, iAPS, LoopKit and the wider #WeAreNotWaiting community. GlucoLoop is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by the Trio project or the Nightscout Foundation. Its only support channel is this repository's issues.
Where it departs from upstream: a rewritten onboarding flow with a role gate, insulin concentration options and an ISF/CR calculator; a required GlucoCore account the app syncs to and checks its version against; and diagnostics, crash reports and bug reports that come to this fork rather than to Trio.
What it does
Runs the OpenAPS (oref) algorithm with Trio's adaptations.
Pump and sensor drivers via LoopKit: Omnipod, Medtronic, Dana and Medtrum pumps; Dexcom, G7 and Libre sensors.
An Apple Watch app and complication, and a Live Activity for the lock screen.
A Flutter follower app that pairs with the host by QR code and sends end-to-end encrypted remote commands (bolus, meal, temp target, override) over push.
Uploads to Tidepool and syncs to a GlucoCore account.
Requires and records acceptance of a safety and FDA notice on first run.
Part of the same system
One loop, one store, one wall
GlucoLoop runs the loop and writes. GlucoCore keeps everything once. GlucoCube reads it back and puts it where the household can see it.
